This cliff house is perfect for the couple that likes to live on the edge

Who would live in a house like this? A couple of thrill seekers who like a decent view, we’re guessing.
This five-storey modular home has been designed by architects Modscape to make the most of western Australia’s rugged coastline and, as you can see, it offers pretty amazing sea views.
According to Modscape’s website, the aptly named Cliff House was designed in response to a request by couple Emma and David who wanted to explore options for building a holiday home on an extreme piece of land they own on the south-west coast of Victoria, Australia. Inspired by the way barnacles cling to the cliff face, this house has been designed to hang off the side of the cliff, rather than sit on it. The architect has used a modular design ‘to deliver a series of stacked modules that are anchored into the cliff face using engineered steel pins.’
Entry to the house is through a garage on the top floor and a lift takes you down to the four living spaces. On the second floor is a lounge with open-plan kitchen/diner. There’s two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom on the third floor, with another bedroom and an en suite below. And then you have your open air Jacuzzi and BBQ area on the last level (of course). The cliff house is still only a concept at this stage, but building can start as soon as there is sufficient demand. We can imagine a few of these dotted around the UK coastline, no?
